Kozarev Confers with Cuba’s First Deputy Foreign Minister

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Dušan Kozarev met today with First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba Gerardo Peñalver Portal, on the margins of the Commemorative Meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Welcoming his interlocutor, Kozarev highlighted the particular symbolism of the meeting, given the importance of the Non-Aligned Movement to both countries.

Kozarev emphasised that Serbia highly appreciates Cuba’s principled position of not recognising the unilaterally declared independence of so-called “Kosovo”, thereby supporting the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

The two sides discussed current bilateral issues, with particular emphasis on joint cultural initiatives.

Kozarev conveyed his gratitude to Cuba for confirming its participation in the Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
